The Ambronay choir

Since its creation in 2000, the choir of the Cultural Encounter Centre has as one of its missions to encourage choral singing in the Ain department and its region. The Ambronay Choir gives about forty amateur choir singers the possibility of discovering or perfecting their knowledge of the baroque repertory with the experts in the field. .

Michel Corboz, Michel Piquemal, Grazziella Contratto and Pierre Cao have successively assumed the artistic and pedagogical direction of this project. Assisted by specialists in different fields, they have produced major works in this repertory, in the framework of the Ambronay Music Festival.

After an intense period of preparation running from April to September, the chosen singers perform during the Ambronay festival, giving several concerts. Accompanied by professional instrumentalists, performing with well-known soloists, the Ambronay Choir is an enriching experience, both musically and socially.

In 2006 the Ambronay choir will work with the Atelier des Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble and its artistic directress, Mirella Giardelli.
