Workshop for the actor-singer - Pierre Kuentz and Philippe Sire
Operatic production requires from the performer a knowledge of theatrical techniques: the actor-singer workshop is aimed at singers who wish to become better acquainted with the fundamentals of the dramatic art.
We are offering a series of exercises which aim to develop presence and self-awareness on stage or in any performance space, engagement (energy and risk-taking), listening to oneself and to others. We will also experiment with exercises with masks. This course is intended to be both serious and playful, and gives singers the opportunity to tackle a variety of difference exercises and to free, renew and stimulate their relationship with theatrical techniques.
Musical performance itself will not be addressed, as musical constraints can sometimes get in the way of and compromise the efforts put into the dramatic work.
